Irina Petrakova Russia
Born in Siberia. Graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts in Novosibirsk (2003). Studied at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Moscow, at the Institute "BAZA" (2011-2013), and at the Salzburg Summer Academy of Arts in the sculpture class of Nora Schultz (2015). Her first solo exhibition "GunPowder" in the Central Exhibition Center "Zarya" in Vladivostok was held in 2015. Irina was co-organizer and creator of the art center "Krasny" in Moscow (2015-2018). In 2021 she had a solo exhibition "Manifested by Disappearance" at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
Engaged in artistic and educational practice with children and teenagers. Lives and works in Moscow.

Petrakova uses different types of art from embroidery and oil pencil graphics to video, sculpture, and installation.
The focus of her artistic optics is the chthonic, the theme of sectarianism, religion, and media. Petrakova explores the dark, subconscious side of reality and its manifestations in everyday life.
Her works are in the collections of Daniel et Florence Guerlain, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Ruarts Foundation, ZARYA, Iragui Gallery and private collections.
