Dickson Yewn Hong Kong

YEWN is a seed that was sown five thousand years ago in China and sprung up when Dickson Yewn, YEWN’s creative director, started creating wearable works of art, his sophisticated craftsmanship reminding twenty-first century audiences of national treasures made by imperial artisans. Since the end of Chinese monarchy, fine jewelry expressing the essence of traditional Chinese art and culture was rarely made. YEWN has the vision to revive the sophistication of traditional Chinese art and to become “The Contemporary Chinese Luxury Jeweller”, a distinctive jewellery brand that truly represents the only remaining civilization-state in the world, China.
Since childhood, Dickson Yewn has been devoting himself to painting. He always felt a strong connection with Chinese arts and culture. In 1995, when Dickson was still a full time artist, he began designing haute couture fine jewelry for his artworks’ afficionados. The design themes include Lattice, Paper Cut, Manchurian, Lock of Good Wishes and Glorious Peony. Many of his pieces were collected by local celebrities and overseas connoisseurs.
In 2011, YEWN became the first contemporary Chinese luxury jewellery brand to be chosen by America’s First Lady. Michelle Obama wore YEWN’s iconic Lattice Jadeite Ring when the American President hosted a dinner for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. The ring caught the eyes of many of the guests at the lavish event, including the UK Prime Minister David Cameron, Oscar winner Colin Firth, English football star David Beckham, Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, and  J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series.
