Eye Drops series

Art objects from the Eye Drops project — photographs by Zhenya Mironov encased in vintage lenses. Most of the lenses are railway lenses, which carry special significance in the context of Mironov’s artistic practice and biography. Originally from Tver, Mironov has dedicated more than one project to the local narrow-gauge railway, finding in the abandoned tracks and their artifacts new images and metaphors.

In Eye Drops, delicate photographs of birds and plants — reminiscent of Japanese graphics — are set within the rigid frames of old railway lenses, prompting us to see them in a new way, as if granting us a deeper vision.
