LIBERA PENDANT

As suggested by the Italian adjective LIBERA, meaning “Free Woman” in English, this jewel is an homage to feminine freedom. Our necklace, approximately 120 cm in length, features a rose gold chain interspersed with sections of rose-cut white diamonds and seven Tahitian keshi pearls in the same dark grey-blue hue as the centerpiece: a rare, perfectly round 17 mm Tahitian pearl. The pearl, long considered the quintessential feminine gem, was dedicated by the Greeks to Aphrodite and is imbued with symbolism connected to water, tides, the moon, motherhood, and the creation of life. This flawless, spherical pearl has not been pierced, allowing it to be removed from its delicate rose gold cage adorned with diamonds and pink sapphires. When held and gently rolled between the fingers, it reveals its indescribable beauty, with iridescent pink tones free to shimmer in every direction. This piece serves as a metaphor for our declaration of support for feminine freedom in all its forms. The pearl becomes a woman, initially appearing imprisoned in a cage of gold and gems—a subtle yet poignant reference to ancient harems or the socio-cultural and religious constraints still imposed on women in some parts of the world, where many rights and privileges are denied. The delicate cage includes a gem-set sliding element, allowing the pearl to be released. The pendant can also be worn without its round gem, while a smaller Tahitian pearl, over 10 mm in size and equipped with a hidden clasp, offers versatility. It allows the necklace to be styled as a long and elegant sautoir or worn shorter, with two loops of chain gracefully encircling the neck.
