This ring, called Girih, is inspired by Ilgiz's travels, much like his China and Peru collections. The idea is from Islamic decorative art “Girih” which is the intricate geometric patterns commonly found in architecture such as mosques and palaces, as well as in various decorative arts and crafts. It’s not only serve aesthetic purposes but also hold symbolic and spiritual significance in Islamic art and culture and this ring features beautiful ornamentation reminiscent of this tradition.
Ilgiz Fazulzyanov was born in 1968 in Zelenodolsk, Republic of Tatarstan. In 1990 after graduating from an art school he founded a workshop of stained glass and silk painting in Kazan.
