As Richard Wu explains "With their upward-pointing shape and elegant fragrance, magnolia flowers represent loyal love, long-lasting friendship, and gratitude in Chinese culture. I chose them because, in the springtime of Shenzhen, you can see large magnolia flowers blooming. After enduring the cold winter, their early spring bloom is truly beautiful. However, I am more captivated by the flowers that remain strong after blooming and experience various hardships until they naturally decline. Just like a woman's beauty, beautiful in youth, but what truly moves me is what behind the surface, the enduring strength that developed over many years. So I chose the posture of the magnolia flower as it blooms and declines, and made this pair of earrings.”
Richard Wu founded the “Liu Guangjia” Oriental jewelry brand in 2005. He established a jade carving studio in Suzhou in 2012, learning the intricacies of the craft along the way.
