The first bracelet of this design was created as a bespoke piece for a female mathematics professor from New York. The turquoise is set asymmetrically, echoing the rhythm of musical notation, while the mother-of-pearl symbolises crescendo and diminuendo — the gradual rise and fall of sound.
Richard Wu founded the “Liu Guangjia” Oriental jewelry brand in 2005. He established a jade carving studio in Suzhou in 2012, learning the intricacies of the craft along the way.
