Description

An extraordinary project has brought together several renowned brands, remarkable artists, and talented craftsmen. The starting point was the new collection by Thai designer Wisharawish — Hunter (SS2026), whose premiere is scheduled for Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo on September 6.

The central image of this collection is a relaxed hunter gathering mushrooms in a Scandinavian-like Forest on his way home. Inspired by this fantastical, fairy-tale theme, Wisharawish selected rare Thai silks, many with ornaments specially created for this collection. The color palette and stylistic approach of the jewelry were also chosen to reflect this narrative.

The jewelry was developed by Anna Minakova, acting both as Creative Director of Epic Jewellery and as founder of her new personal project Alice in WonderLab, launching this fall. Her inspiration came directly from the collection’s concept and silks shown to her by Wisharawish.

This led to the creation of necklaces and bracelets made of handcrafted silver chains with large links, baroque pearls, and a symbolic motif evoking a mycelium. The flagship piece of the collection is a silver necklace with a central mokume gane element set with diamonds.

Several talented craftsmen from different countries participated in its creation. The pattern sketch was drawn by the acclaimed Russian artist Irina Petrakova. The central mokume gane element was crafted in Tokyo by Spanish master Jaume Labro, widely regarded as the world’s foremost specialist in this ancient Japanese technique.

The silver elements of the necklace, along with the rest of the collection, was hancrafted and assembled in Thailand, a country famed for its refined silver craftsmanship. Many ideas, such as the use of baroque pearls, came directly from Wisharawish. To ensure flawless assembly across multiple countries, Epic Jewellery developed the 3D models and technical solutions. The result is a genuine co-creation.
