Epic Jewellery continues to collaborate with contemporary artists from different countries and presents a new project created together with the star of the world art scene Olga Tobreluts.
The limited edition pendants are inspired by the recognisable spiky hearts that Olga has created before in media such as painting, lenticular print, or 3D sculpture. For Tobreluts, the project was her first experience with the jewellery medium.
The series of pendants in purple (colour achieved by anodising titanium) with diamonds is limited to 10 pieces. Another unique object in the form of a rainbow-coloured pendant will be presented later in the year.
As the artist Olga Tobreluts says: "The idea is based on the symbol "flaming heart". It is a heart from which rays of love, compassion and
patience emanate. It is a symbol of the human soul, which is transformed through self-knowledge. The symbol of the heart in all ages has had the meaning not only of religious devotion, but also of devotion to loved ones and to one's family".
According to Anna Minakova, Creative Director of Epic Jewellery, "For us, the most difficult thing in this project was to work with scale. As you realise, we couldn't just make Olga's sculpture smaller. We had to rework “Heart" in such a way that "change not alter": the proportions, the number of spikes, their parameters - everything was rethought and reworked, but in such a way that the viewer would immediately recognise Olga Tobreluts' famous series of works".
The Epic x Tobreluts art jewellery will be presented at a series of themed events throughout the year, the closest of which will be Eurus Gallery's exhibition 'The Heart Attack', which opens on February 11th in Bangkok.
